1750 - Large butlers' tray

1750

Oval mahogany butlers’ tray of this kind with folding slides were usually made in the 18th century to be placed on tall folding X-shaped stands. For today’s homes a lower height is more appropriate as a coffee table, hence the square-legged Georgian-style stand with an understretcher, bringing the tray down to coffee table height.
