Magnificent carved mahogany bureau bookcase of George II style inspired by a photograph of a famous original piece of important size. This bookcase has an elaborate fitted interior to the writing section with the inside of the fall lined in tooled hide. The upper section is fitted with three adjustable shelves and there is a proliferation of the finest hand carving on the cornice and pediment.
